- Currently, credit reports are free to consumers in all states. In accordance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act), www.AnnualCreditReport.com provides consumers with the secure means to request and obtain a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies (Equifax, Trans Union, and Experian).
- How will I be notified if my information is detected as at risk or in use?
- You will be notified by email at the address on file. If you change your email address, be sure to update your profile to include this information. The full detail of your alert(s) will be available within the secure membership website.
- What is Identity Monitoring and how is it different from Credit Monitoring?
- Identity Monitoring is a service that monitors non-credit data and alerts you when your identity is at risk or being used - potentially without your permission. Conversely, Credit Monitoring is the monitoring of your credit file in order to detect any activity or change. Credit monitoring was developed to help consumers find errors in their credit report before applying for a loan. Credit monitoring can take up to 90 days to report a change to a credit file, depending on the reporting business and bureau. This identity monitoring solution provides more comprehensive coverage than credit monitoring and detection of changes takes a fraction of the time.
- Why do I need Identity Monitoring?
- Our Identity Monitoring solution detects stolen personally identifiable information and compromised confidential data. At any point in time, our technology is monitoring hundreds of thousands of websites and millions of data points using a variety of data gathering techniques, such as chat room monitoring, site crawling and scraping capabilities and forum extraction. This monitoring diligence ensures rapid detection of any online exchange of your personal information that may be associated with identity theft.
- Are there any qualifications to purchase the Identity Theft Protection plan?
- No, there are no questions or qualifications to purchase the E.P.I.C. plan, however the restoration and insurance service will not apply to fraud that occurred prior to enrolling in E.P.I.C..
- Where is the Identity Theft Protection plan available?
- The E.P.I.C. plan is available in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
- What does the Identity Theft Insurance policy cover?
- Our Identity Theft Insurance policy reimburses you (up to USD 1 Million) for expenses related to identity theft restoration, including:
- Replacement of documents
- Traveling expenses
- Loss of income
- Child/elderly care
- Fraudulent withdrawals from a bank account
- And legal costs
- Does the E.P.I.C. plan cover me if someone in another country steals my identity?
- Yes, the plan will provide reimbursement for identity fraud occurring anywhere in the world, with the exclusion of the following territories: Afghanistan, Balkans, Belarus, Burma/Myanmar, Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe.
- Can I select my own attorney?
- The Identity Theft insurance policy will reimburse you for any approved legal fee. One of the advantages of the identity theft insurance plan is that you can choose your own attorney.
- Is there a deductible with the ID Theft Insurance?
- No, you do not have to pay a deductible in order to claim your Identity Theft Insurance benefits.
- How much coverage does the ID Theft Insurance provide?
- The ID Theft Insurance is USD 1 Million of coverage and is backed and underwritten by an internationally recognized carrier that is A.M. Best "A Rated."
- To use the lost wallet assistance feature, do I have to provide an inventory of my wallet contents?
- No, you do not need to inventory your wallet in order to use this benefit. Once it has been determined that you have lost your wallet or purse, a representative will work with you to ensure recoverable items are cancelled and replaced. This will involve signing a limited power of attorney, so the representative can work on your behalf, and may require your credit report to be requested and reviewed for the most up to date account information.
- What can be recovered in the event I have lost my wallet or purse?
- Our Lost Wallet service helps you quickly cancel and replace all items commonly carried in wallets and purses, including:
- Credit cards
- Debit cards
- Check books
- Driver's license
- Social Security cards
- Insurance cards
- Passports
- Military identification cards
- Traveler's checks
